Platform Computing Launches Next Generation of Products for its HPC Management Suite
Latest Updates Offer Greater Control of IT Resources While Reducing Burden on HPC Administrators
TORONTO, Canada, November 13, 2008 – Platform Computing, the global leader in High Performance Computing (HPC) management software, has announced its next generation of HPC management products: Platform LSF™ 7 Update 4, Platform Analytics 7.1 and Platform RTM 1.5. These products help customers manage their workloads, resources and control costs within their HPC and grid computing environments. The new products improve users’ ability to dynamically meet demand for compute resources with available supply at the lowest cost.
Platform LSF is the leading commercial workload management software used by thousands of customers in complex and challenging HPC environments. Platform LSF 7 Update 4 continues Platform’s strategy to deliver innovative functionality to the market including numerous enhancements. The latest version of Platform LSF is designed to give users greater control of resource allocations to jobs. Users can now minimize wait times and claim additional CPU power when necessary. As a flexible and scalable HPC solution, Platform LSF 7 Update 4 is more responsive to the needs of users while reducing administrator workload with delegation of control features.
Platform Analytics, the most comprehensive and robust analysis tool for Platform LSF environments, provides business user solutions for project and capacity planning, resource usage accounting and chargeback. Platform Analytics 7.1 now offers enhanced support for data loss protection and auto recovery. Platform RTM delivers timely information to effectively monitor and manage hosts, workloads and license data in your Platform LSF environment. This helps system administrators improve decision making, reduce costs and increase service levels. Platform RTM 1.5 adds support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5. In addition, deployment has been greatly simplified with a 30 minute end-to-end installation from a bootable CD.
“As the market leader, it is Platform’s goal to deliver ongoing frequent updates to our products, allowing customers to get more and more out of their resources and improve IT and end-user productivity,” said Jingwen Wang, Vice President, Products, Platform Computing. “Whether you are a resource engineer analyzing and interpreting data or a chip designer running design verifications, Platform Computing provides greater flexibility, visibility and control of your IT environment, leading to faster result times at a lower cost.”
