High Performance SOA Grid Server
Additional Platform Symphony Capabilities
Platform Symphony for GPUs
Platform Symphony recognizes GPUs as schedulable resources, enabling GPUs to be shared more effectively between applications and departments. It automates the detection and monitoring of GPUs through the integrated management interface exposing details such as mode of operation, GPU temperature and ECC error counts. By detecting exceptions such as over-heat conditions and by automatically invalidating jobs on GPUs experiencing errors, Platform Symphony manages GPU workloads much more effectively, enabling higher job throughput and productivity with much less management effort. Platform Data Affinity
Platform Data Affinity takes into account data locality when scheduling service-oriented workloads. It allows for a preferential association to be expressed between a task and a service instance or host that has needed application data. Users can define their own data tags and select hosts based on user-defined expressions. By scheduling workloads intelligently based on data requirements, network traffic can be reduced dramatically and applications can be made to run much more quickly. Download the Datasheet
Platform MultiCluster for Symphony
Platform MultiCluster for Symphony is designed for administrators and users that are utilizing multiple Platform Symphony clusters either in the same data center or across separate locations. An integrated web interface provides visibility to all resources and consumers across multiple clusters, simplifying monitoring and management, helping organizations find and utilize idle resources, and enabling more effective capacity planning decisions. Configurable policies allow resources to be logically moved between clusters based on application demand, allowing performance objectives to be met without the need to purchase additional hardware. Platform Server Harvesting for Symphony
Platform Server Harvesting for Symphony allows idle and underutilized servers to be located and aggregated as part of the Symphony grid when additional server capacity is need to handle workloads. Features such as the ability to exclude processes when measuring load and the ability to configure Symphony such that critical non-Symphony applications can be quickly recognized ensure that production business applications will not be impacted as resources are automatically harvested. Harvested resources are exposed through the integrated management interface, providing a consistent environment that simplifies administration.
Platform Virtual Server Harvesting for Symphony
Platform Virtual Server Harvesting for Symphony extends the harvesting capabilities in Platform Symphony to harvest idle cycles from virtualization technologies such asVMware vCenter or vSphere environments or Citrix XenServer environments. By running Platform Virtual Server Harvesting for Symphony on existing hypervisor platforms, template-based Platform Symphony compute hosts can be started on the hypervisor and dynamically joined to the cluster during periods of demand to process work without interfering with other VMs.
Platform Desktop Scavenging for Symphony
Platform Desktop Scavenging for Symphony enables a “pool” of available idle desktops to be aggregated as part of the Platform Symphony grid to provide additional capacity when desktops are idle. When Platform Symphony detects that desktops are not in-use, they are “opened” and become candidates to run Platform Symphony tasks so that work is completed faster, avoiding the need for additional spending on infrastructure.
Platform Connector for Excel
Platform Connector for Excel enables you to run Microsoft Excel as a service in Platform Symphony, and perform Excel based calculations in parallel on compute hosts without needing to alter existing worksheets.
